Remembering Peter James Wilson

10/06/2022 You may recall back in March we told you how we wanted to mark Peter Wilson’s 75th Birthday in 2021 in order to remember a much loved and missed boss, colleague and friend. Peter lived at Lydd-on-Sea and was an ardent supporter of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution so H W Wilson decided to support the RNLI’s ‘Share a Memory’ Campaign in Peter’s memory. This is where the name of someone special is added in the letters and numbers printed on an all-weather Shannon lifeboat. ‘Peter James Wilson’ now appears on the top of the RNLI’s new Shannon RNLI 13-46 which will be based at Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk. https://launchamemory.rnli.org/wells-next-the-sea?actId=ebwp0YMB8s0RxX0lUGBsN9UcvuQDVN7alUaprjO3SW_xvNNbDQhqsRXmRI7i6ArK&actCampaignType=CAMPAIGN_MAIL&actSource=503371 The Shannon is the first modern all-weather lifeboat propelled by waterjets instead of propellers, making her the most agile and manoeuvrable all-weather lifeboat in the RNLI fleet. Waterjets allow the Shannon to operate in shallow waters and be intentionally beached We were also pleased to discover that our new Shannon is named after HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. #loveconstruction
