Civic Awards 2014

28/02/2014

Last Friday, we attended the Civic Awards at High House Production Park, where we were proud and excited to not only be a nominee of ‘Business in the Community’ award, but a sponsor of ‘The Civic Life Award’, an award that celebrates local business’s devotion and long-standing commitment to bettering the community over their lifetime.

It was a great evening, with HW Wilson Ltd presenting the well-deserved Civic Award to Albert and Winnie England of the local Burma Star Association, who have for many years supported members of the community with regards to the Burma Campaign 1941-1945.

Unfortunately, we didn’t receive the award of ‘Business in the Community’ but we were pleased to congratulate the other candidates in their efforts, and acknowledging the overall worthy winners at Port of Tilbury, who won the award based on their extensive work with local young people, and their support of a variety of local projects and clubs.

HW Wilson Ltd recognises the great local workforce that Thurrock has to offer, because after all, ‘We're here to celebrate Thurrock's real heroes - the people who unassumingly give their time to their neighbours, community or town’, as BBC Essex’s Dave Monk indicated at the ceremony.

We are now anticipating our next endeavour, attending the Thurrock Business Awards in March, at which we are nominated for three awards, and look forward to supporting not only our team and business, but our competitors as well. Good Luck to all those competing, and we will see you all there!
