14/09/2024 Today we acknowledge the tenth anniversary of the death of former H W Wilson owner and Managing Director, Peter Wilson. Peter was a dear boss and friend, and we have included a photo of him at his beloved Lydd-on-Sea. Peter was an ardent supporter of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution. You may recall that current MD Peter Wiffen paid special tribute to Peter by having his name printed on one of their new boats as part of the RNLI's ‘Share a Memory’ campaign. Peter Wilson's name was placed on the new Duke of Edinburgh on top of the wheelhouse - allowing him to always look down on future crews and the grateful rescued! Duke of Edinburgh entered service in 2023 and is based at Wells-next-the-Sea in Norfolk, and we’re pleased to report that she has so far gone to the aid of four yachts in difficulty, assisted a cruiser that had grounded, rescued an ill fisherman and performed an area search. We’re sure Peter will be proud!
