Worksmart Parking Initiative - Basildon Hospital
This Civil engineering project was carried out over a 4 month period between January and April 2011. A sympathetic design was established to enable planning approval in a sensitive green belt area, and was to include landscaping and tree planting as part of the scope of works. A mixture of hard and soft landscaping enabled us to provide adequate emergency vehicle access, and good disabled access, along with a softer more natural feel to the rest of the overflow car park area. A large amount of surface water and land drainage was installed to ensure the heavy clay rich soil did not revert back to the boggy area it has become.
In addition we also provided a controlled one way system, with a barrier access control. A CCTV and lighting package added to a safe and secure environment for the staff using the facility.
