HW Wilson go that extra mile for 'Thurrock 100'

10/06/2015

In july 2015 a series of 10 public walks will take place over a ten-day period totalling 100 miles around Thurrock.  Local school and community groups have worked together to create a series of spectacular flags representing landmarks of particular interest along the way.  These flags will be carried along the chosen routes by various people.  Everyone is invited to take part by walking some or all of the way, and communities will be asked to nominate people to carry their flags.

The walks start on 9th July in Ockendon, travelling through Horndon-on-the-Hill, Bulphan, Orsett, Purfleet, Stanford, Chafford Hundred, Aveley, Tilbury, Chadwell-St- Mary, Stifford Clays, and will culminate on 18th July with the last walk and all the flags arriving at this year's Village Beach Festival held at Grays Riverside.

Come along and join us on 9th July at 11.30am at the South Ockendon War Memorial, North Road. The walks starts at 12pm, and you can walk as much or as little as you feel you are able.  The idea is to take part, meet new people and discover areas of Thurrock you may have never experienced before!
