The company was established in 1928 by Henry Wilson who had trained as a Stonemason.  The company's first customer was Dr. Barnardo's who had at that time established children's homes in Barkingside and Woodford Bridge.  The company was incorporated as a limited company in 1930.  During the following years the number of customers increased dramatically and included many of the local schools, hospital, churches and other customers, with many and various requirements.  More recently our major customers have included Port of Tilbury and Royal & Sun Alliance.  The company was also responsible for the construction and maintenance of the various Roomes Stores properties in Upminster and constructed private houses for sale in Cheelson Road, Wilsman Road, and North Road, South Ockendon. (The names of Mr. Cheelson and Mr. Wilsman - the landowner and builder were transposed to become Cheelson and Wilsman Roads).

More recently due to the retirement of Mr. Peter Wilson the company has been divided into two separate companies. The older parent company H.W.W. Ltd. has taken a back seat and the new company H.W.Wilson Ltd. was created in January 2001.  Since the formation of the new company we have again increased our customer base, turnover, and profit. But still continue to offer the same high quality and service.
